The Story
Williams Plumbing delivers a full range of construction services—from plumbing and HVAC to engineering and fabrication - on projects of all sizes.
When Alex Lingle, Director of Business System, first joined Williams as a Purchasing Manager, he saw a critical inefficiency: every Project Manager was sourcing materials their own way. This decentralized approach hampered negotiating power, prevented bulk buying, and made inventory chaotic. With a background in Industrial Engineering, Alex knew they needed a structured, scalable solution that centralized procurement.
He discovered Kojo and immediately saw its potential. Unlike generic software, Kojo was built for the trades. Williams became an early adopter of Kojo’s procurement product. But as Kojo began developing inventory and tool tracking capabilities, Alex leaned in.
Operating in Montana, with long lead times for deliveries, Williams relies heavily on its warehouse. Alex was outgrowing their old inventory system and began overhauling operations—organizing inventory, documenting SKUs, so that Williams could treat the warehouse like their own supplier. His team partnered closely with Kojo’s Product team, shaping what would become the Warehouse Materials and Tool Tracking modules.
The Solution
Alex had the foresight to see that Kojo was more than just a fit for the trades—it was a long-term partner. Kojo and Williams Plumbing evolved together and their feedback helped shape Kojo’s Warehouse Materials and Tool Tracking products. As these products launched, Williams started putting them to work.
The Warehouse Materials module was plug-and-play to their existing SKU system, so onboarding was seamless. They imported their inventory directly into Kojo, providing real-time visibility, right down to bin and shelf locations.
Next came Kojo-generated QR codes. Suddenly, warehouse, purchasing, and field crews were speaking the same language. Field teams could see what was in stock and request it instantly. The warehouse and procurement teams synced more closely than ever, unlocking new efficiencies: bulk buying power, smarter sourcing, and far less lost material. With Kojo, the warehouse became a true supply asset—lowering project risk and driving profitability.
Alex appreciated Kojo’s agility in his day-to-day, like syncing with their ERP, Spectrum, without forcing anyone into a rigid workflow. Alex relies on Kojo’s dashboards to track everything from material spend and PO details to vendor performance and project allocations. Instead of memorizing PO numbers, he can search by name and surface exactly what he needs. He also tracks warehouse performance—comparing multiple locations, catching errors, and using data to improve operations across the board.
Now, Williams is diving into Kojo’s Tool Tracking module. By setting tool minimums and maximums, they’re tightening job costing and ensuring that tools are where they need to be, when they need to be there.
For Alex, it’s simple: the more visibility you have, the more profitable you become. Kojo gives Williams that visibility—and the edge they need.
