The Story
About Anderson Howard
Anderson Howard is a Southern California electrical contractor working with general contractors on large commercial and industrial projects. Lighting is a specialty: submittals for a single job can run long, covering a wide range of fixture types, routed through approvals from architects, electrical engineers, and lighting designers before a single fixture ships.
The challenge
Anderson Howard runs its books on Access Coins Evo, and for a while, purchasing lived there too. With the Access Coins Evo and Kojo partnership, the field side of the business — tracking deliveries against a lot PO, matching what actually shipped to what was ordered, giving a project manager visibility into a bill of materials without re-keying it into a spreadsheet — moved to Kojo. Access Coins Evo stayed the system of record for the money.
The detour
For a stretch, Anderson Howard explored a different procurement system, drawn in, as Debbie put it, by "some bells and whistles." It didn't stick. By Debbie's account, both experiences with Kojo have been great.
The integration
The Kojo and Access Coins Evo integration connects the field to finance directly. When a request goes out, a PO gets committed, or material ships, that activity syncs into Access Coins Evo automatically — nobody has to key it in twice. Invoices match against POs and deliveries as the job moves, not after it closes, so finance is looking at the same numbers the field is working from, in real time. That's the shift for Anderson Howard: purchasing and accounting run off one connected system instead of two that only reconcile at month-end.
The Solution
With the integration live, Anderson Howard's purchasing and accounting teams are working off the same numbers as the job happens, not after it closes:
• Requests, commits, and invoices move automatically between Kojo and Access Coins Evo, without manual re-entry or a separate reconciliation pass.
• 3-way matching happens as material ships, not at month-end. In Debbie's words: "The moment that something gets shipped, we now have an invoice — it's made a world of difference."
• Cost overruns surface mid-job, while there's still time to do something about it.
Results
For Anderson Howard, that speed changes what month-end close looks like. Purchasing and finance work off the same numbers as the job happens, instead of piecing them together afterward.
